I am excited to announce that my paper titled "Working Seagrasses: Emerging Coastal Ethics in the Mexican Caribbean" has been published in Maritime Studies. This research explores how new coastal ethics emerge in light of 'working seagrasses', I concept I introduce to highlight both, the ecological 'work' seagrasses carries out underwater, and the work marine biologists carry out to protect their beloved underwater power plants. The article examines the curated interaction among scientists, turtles, seagrass, and algae, sheds light on restoration as a specific ecological practice, and demonstrates that recognition of species plays a crucial role in coastal ethics.
