I enjoyed discussing Amitav Ghosh’s novel Gun Island at the Rachel Carson Center in Munich. The book brings to life urgent themes of climate change, migration, and ecological transformation, and our conversation explored the intersections of environmental crises, history, and the more-than-human experience in our contemporary world, offering deep insights into how stories, be they anthropological, literary, or both, can shape our understanding of the Anthropocene. This event was a powerful reminder of the role storytelling plays in addressing global challenges.
