It‘s hard to imagine a more fitting environment than the MIT Anthropology Department to explore the ideas and concepts for my upcoming book on Sargassum. My time as a visiting scholar in August and September 2023 has been truly enriching, leaving me not only with a suitcase full of notes and fresh insights but also with deep gratitude toward Stefan Helmreich and the entire department team. Their invaluable contributions, remarkable ideas, and insightful comments have played a pivotal role in advancing my book project.
